Blinking cursor in Xfce terminal

This tip shows you how to get a blinking cursor in the Xfce terminal windows. To get the blinking cursor, please follow the steps below:
  • Open any file manager. For Xfce this will be Thunar
  • Press Ctrl + H to unhide all hidden files and folders
  • Browse to the following folder: ~/.config/xfce4/terminal
  • Find the file terminalrc and open it in any text editor. For Xfce this will be Leafpad
  • Now look for a line that starts with MiscCursorBlinking
  • Change the value at the end of the line from FALSE into TRUE
  • Save the file and close it
When you open your terminal, you will notice that the cursor is now blinking.
